The company is aware that its major impact on the environment is the use fuel in the form of petrol for carrying out its services. Other waste is produced from the servicing and maintenance of vehicles although this carried out by external companies, other impacts on the environment is the use of water for cleaning of vehicles as well as general admin and office waste. All waste is removed by appropriate methods ether by normal refuse collection or to the local authority waste transfer station, or if necessary by approved contractor. Exclusive Carriage Co as part of its duty of care is committed to the prevention of pollution and waste minimisation in all aspects of it operations.
The use of fuel is monitored for mpg (miles per gallon) and on new vehicles by onboard computers giving a “real time” mpg readings and the vehicles maintained to high standard.
As part of our commitment to continual environmental improvement the company will assess on an ongoing basis. Its current practices and where practicable, source substances and other materials that would have the least environmental impact. When sourcing new vehicles to consider various options such as engine size and fuel types i.e. petrol, diesel or L.P.G their cost / practicability and environmental impacts.
Where new products, materials or equipment are to be introduced the environmental impact is to be assessed and where applicable ensuring it complies with or exceeds environmental legislation
